World Asthma Day 2020

World Asthma Day is an annual event organized by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) to improve asthma awareness and care around the world.

Around 2.7 million Australians (one in nine or 11.2% of the total population) had asthma in 2017-18. Over the last 10 years, the prevalence of asthma increased in the Australian population from 9.9% in 2007-08 to 11.2% in 2017-18.

Miracle Month of May 2020

Miracle Month of May is a chance to raise awareness and funds for premature and sick newborns, their families and the hospitals that care for them.

In 2017, some 2.5 million newborns died, mostly from preventable causes. Almost two-thirds of babies who die were born premature. And even if they survive, these babies face chronic diseases or developmental delays. In addition, an estimated 1 million small and sick newborns survive with a long-term disability.

World Malaria Day 2020

World Malaria Day is a chance to shine a spotlight on the global effort to control malaria. It highlights the need for continued investment and sustained political commitment for malaria prevention and control. Malaria remains both a major cause and a consequence of global poverty and inequity.

According to the latest World malaria report, released in December 2019, there were 228 million cases of malaria in 2018 compared to 231 million cases in 2017.

COVID-19 Cleaning requirements

Coronaviruses can survive on surfaces for many hours or more but are readily inactivated by cleaning and disinfection. It is good practice to routinely clean frequently touched surfaces with detergent solutions, and general surfaces when visibly soiled and immediately following any spillage.

Removal of germs such as the virus that causes COVID-19 requires thorough cleaning followed by disinfection.

Sexual Assault Awareness Month 2020



Sexual Assault Awareness month is a campaign designed to raise awareness in the community regarding the harms of sexual assault. This is a major problem in society and action needs to be taken to prevent further damage.

Fight against sexual assault this April:

  • Change your profile picture on Facebook in support of the cause
  • Buy merchandise
  • Donate to the foundation
  • Organise your event

Washing Your Hands Regularly

These simple steps can help to protect yourself and the community.

Practise good hygiene by

  • making sure to clean your hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand rub
  • cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing with a tissue or a flexed elbow
  • avoid close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms.

Make sure you stay home if you are sick.
