Neurofibromatosis Awareness Month 2018

May is NF Awareness Month, a time for the community to harness their power, drive awareness, educate those around them, and raise money to support research that will lead to effective treatments for neurofibromatosis (NF).  Neurofibromatosis causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body, mainly in children, and has no approved cure at this point in time. This year marks 40 years of the child tumor foundation’s fight against the disease.

“NF1 is one of the most common genetic inherited conditions, affecting up to 1 in 2,500 individuals.”
