World Malaria Day is a chance to shine a spotlight on the global effort to control malaria. The theme for 2017 is ‘END MALARIA FOR GOOD’ and highlights the need for continued investment and sustained political commitment for malaria prevention and control. Malaria remains both a major cause and a consequence of global poverty and inequity.

“According to the World Malaria Report 2016, in 2015, there were 212 million new cases of malaria and 429,000 deaths. One child dies from malaria every two minutes.”
